THE BEATLES Beatles For Sale (Extremely rare 1969 3rd UKissue of the 1964 14-track LP on the yellow & blackParlophone label with’YEX 142-1′ matrix correcting the ‘3’ in’YEX 143-1′. Most EMI albums issued in 1969 had the ‘one EMIbox’ black & silver label, however very few, such as thiscarried the earlier design with the classic black and yellowParlophone label. TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
The Labels are black with yellow print, silver text and large yellow Parlophone logo at the top. There is no visible wear around the spindlehole. The labels have ‘The Gramophone Co’ text WITHOUT ‘Sold In The UK’ text, indicating this to be a 1969 pressing.
Most LPs on Parlophone in 1969 were issued on the transitional Black & Silver label with one EMI boxed logo before switching to the more familiar two EMI boxed logo label in 1970, making this an extremely rare variant!
The matrix numbers both end -1 indicating that this copy was one of the first pressed. They are as follows
Side One YEX 142-1
Side Two YEX 143-1
The sleeve shows very little sign of wear and is an easy Excellent, complete with the original EMI red tint advert inner.
The labels show moderate spindle wear and the vinyl has just a few faint scuffs, but nothing particularly severe, leaving it Excellent.
