Pequena Vertigem de Amor, the third full-length from São Paulo artist Sessa, marks a transformation in both life and sound. Where Grandeza explored earthly desire and Estrela Acesa probed love’s possibilities, this album turns skyward, shaped by the intimacy of fatherhood.
Recorded at Cosmo Studios with Biel Basile and Marcelo Cabral, the record expands Sessa’s palette with piano, synths, wah-wah guitar and drum machine, alongside his signature whispered vocals, acoustic guitar and female chorus.
Influences span Shuggie Otis and Sly Stone to Erasmo Carlos and Tim Maia, blending crooked funk with Brazilian soul and samba-jazz inflections. Pianist Marcelo Maita brings a vital new energy, while songs like “Dodói” and “Vale a Pena” channel both playfulness and tender joy.
Across nine tracks, Pequena Vertigem de Amor captures Sessa’s existential shift, fusing rhythm, intimacy and experimentation into music that is at once personal, universal, and joyfully alive.
