Description
Based on Michelle Magorians novel about a cantankerous WWI veteran who is paired against his will with a London orphan. Set in a small English town at the start of WWII GOODNIGHT MISTER TOM stars John Thaw as Tom Oakley who gets stuck with a shy young orphan named Willie Beech when the children of London are evacuated and sent to rural towns in preparation for the expected German bombings. Willie an illiterate bed wetting child who has endured a horrific childhood soon brings out the caring parent in Tom that had disappeared years ago beginning a relationship that will change both their lives.
